I came here hoping for a higher class and quality nail salon but I was mistaken. I asked for the chrome gel manicure, I was told upfront it was $80. Itβs a steep price tag (a nail salon downtown charges $50 for the same service) but I was happy to pay the price but with the expectation the service would be equivalent to the price. After patiently waiting 10 mins for the technician, she started with me all frazzled and rushing. No one should use an e-file if they do not receive the proper training on how to use them. I have one at home that I use for my own cuticles and never damage my nails in the process. She started filing down my nails at the nail bed instead of the cuticle which was hurting me. She told me I needed to relax and I asked her to please only lift and file the cuticle, NOT my nail.
She continued to proceed so I asked her to use cuticle oil and cuticle cutters and that I was switching to a regular manicure. She proceeded to comment on βhow badβ my cuticles were. I took a photo one week later with the damage to my nail.
To make it more annoying, when another technician asked her why the manicure was switched she said βshe changed her mind and doesnβt want to pay for the gel.β I didnβt change my mind because of the price, I changed my mind because I didnβt feel it was right for me to pay $80 for someone to ruin my nails. She also did a poor job painting the nails.
Only giving 1 star because I paid for a 10 minute massage and the gentleman who was the masseuse was exceptional. It was satisfactory, it was thoughtful of them to accommodate me last minute, but I wish they had paraffin wax. I just returned home from my manicure/pedicure and the gel on my nails is wrinkled. They inform you post-payment that a 20% gratuity is required, not included. If tipping is mandatory, it should be factored into the price. Paying $75 (for a standard pedicure with regular polish and a regular gel manicure) and then an obligatory $15 tip on top ($90 total) seemed a bit steep to me, especially since the gel finish is not smooth. It's an adequate nail salon for quick services. Bring cash as they charge extra for card payments. Opting for a chrome gel manicure, I noticed the application was sloppy from the start. The technician assured me it would improve after washing my hands. However, even days later, the cuticles appeared messy (1st image). The polish began chipping almost immediately, with significant wear visible in under a week. By day 11, nearly all my nails were chipping (last image).
