I also feel guilty for subjecting my nails and skin to buffing, filing, and harsh chemicals during a manicure. My visit to Lunula was a game-changer. They exclusively use organic products, and my manicurist was incredibly gentle and meticulous. The salon exuded a serene and calming atmosphere; the scents, decor, and energy of the manicurists all contributed to a perfect setting. After my polish dried, I was pleasantly surprised by a follow-up to ensure my experience was satisfactory and a final cold water rinse to preserve my beautiful manicure. I was informed about their 7-day polish policy, where they offer complimentary touch-ups for any chipped nails - mind blown! This was a first for me, and I left completely satisfied with the service. My first spa experience was a good one. The facility was clean, organized, and staff were constantly cleaning and restocking. Towels and slippers were provided. Locker rooms had amenities like blow dryers, scrunchies, lotions, face wash, mouthwash, and more. There are 3 plunge pools - hot, medium, and cold. I preferred the hot pool at 104 degrees. The medium was a bit cool, and the cold was too chilly for me at 50 degrees. There are also 3 saunas at different temperatures, including a steam sauna. I had a 50-minute massage which was good but left me sore for a few days. I also tried a scrub which left me oily, requiring a rinse before getting back in the pool. The place got crowded as the day went on. I went on a Tuesday and it was quite busy. They have a food area with liquor available, but it's pricey. Overall, not a bad first spa experience, conveniently located in Brooklyn. No phones allowed in the spa area.About

Alex took care of me and assured me that she could get the job done. The other gentlemen were also very welcoming, nice and I got a great neck, shoulder massage. I went in for eyebrow threading, upper lip waxing, and individual eyelash extensions. Everything was going well until the lash technician finished and I noticed that the lashes were longer than I wanted. She mentioned that she had used a mix of medium and small lashes. Without consulting me, she proceeded to trim them, resulting in a tacky appearance. I left the salon feeling unhappy with the outcome, despite spending $40 on the lashes alone (and nearly $70 in total). Although I still tipped her $6, it seemed like she expected more. I am still dealing with a severe breakout on my forehead above my eyebrows a week and a half later. Perhaps I should have emphasized more that I had never waxed my eyebrows before? Or mentioned my preferences for shape and avoiding pulling above my eyebrows? The lack of communication and consultation during the process was disappointing. I wish there had been a discussion about the procedure and the products being used. There was no consideration for my first-time experience, and now it will be my last.
Receiving a rude comment about my eyebrows not being symmetrical in the middle of the session was disheartening. Instead of feeling empowered and confident after my appointment, I left feeling less sure of myself. As women in the beauty industry, it is important to uplift and empower clients.
