I came here hoping for a higher class and quality nail salon but I was mistaken. I asked for the chrome gel manicure, I was told upfront it was $80. It’s a steep price tag (a nail salon downtown charges $50 for the same service) but I was happy to pay the price but with the expectation the service would be equivalent to the price. After patiently waiting 10 mins for the technician, she started with me all frazzled and rushing. No one should use an e-file if they do not receive the proper training on how to use them. I have one at home that I use for my own cuticles and never damage my nails in the process. She started filing down my nails at the nail bed instead of the cuticle which was hurting me. She told me I needed to relax and I asked her to please only lift and file the cuticle, NOT my nail.
She continued to proceed so I asked her to use cuticle oil and cuticle cutters and that I was switching to a regular manicure. She proceeded to comment on “how bad” my cuticles were. I took a photo one week later with the damage to my nail.
To make it more annoying, when another technician asked her why the manicure was switched she said “she changed her mind and doesn’t want to pay for the gel.” I didn’t change my mind because of the price, I changed my mind because I didn’t feel it was right for me to pay $80 for someone to ruin my nails. She also did a poor job painting the nails.
Only giving 1 star because I paid for a 10 minute massage and the gentleman who was the masseuse was exceptional. My recent visit was a letdown, a loyal customer for years. 5th Ave spot made changes, moving the studio downstairs to the shopping area. They removed comfy chairs for both clients and brow specialists, impacting the end result. No privacy, all eyes on you from inside and outside. Studio now near elevator and their storage, constant foot traffic, loud and uncomfortable. No waiting area, standing only. Unhappy about the change, couldn't wait to leave. After 5+ years, won't return. Hope those responsible see this, losing long-term clients for comfort, privacy, and top-notch service. For the NYC location, situated in Rockefeller plaza, you have to ENTER THE BUILDING AND DESCEND THE STAIRS to the right of the escalator and you'll find them there. It's quite simple otherwise to wander around the block wondering where they are. That being said this place is a luxury barber shop that is priced very reasonably. Future Monarch of England Prince William actually had his haircut at one of the London locations. They excel in quality old school barber trade, and I was very pleased with my haircut from Jacob! They offer a wide range of services from skin fades to beard trims and hair washes and face cleaning etc. It's a fantastic full service barber shop and I would recommend visiting if you're in the area!About

I was running late - and they were incredibly kind and accommodating. The atmosphere is serene and relaxing - and the most comfortable "bed" I've ever experienced in a salon. They are extremely gentle and the lashes are stunning. Due to my tardiness, they had to do a different set - which turned out great. It was satisfactory, it was thoughtful of them to accommodate me last minute, but I wish they had paraffin wax. I just returned home from my manicure/pedicure and the gel on my nails is wrinkled. They inform you post-payment that a 20% gratuity is required, not included. If tipping is mandatory, it should be factored into the price. Paying $75 (for a standard pedicure with regular polish and a regular gel manicure) and then an obligatory $15 tip on top ($90 total) seemed a bit steep to me, especially since the gel finish is not smooth. It's an adequate nail salon for quick services. Bring cash as they charge extra for card payments.
