Dollar General

I give this Dollar General zero stars. This particular location has the worst employees and management by far. I have never been treated so poorly anywhere in my life as I was on September 2, 2023. I enjoy riding my bicycle frequently for exercise due to my multiple sclerosis, not because I lack a vehicle. Often, I bring a backpack along in case I want to pick up some items while out. However, on this specific night, I entered this Dollar General with my backpack on, grabbed a shopping cart, and suddenly a very large, I believe female, started loudly berating me about my backpack not being allowed on my back and insisting I put it at the cashier's desk. Her loud tone embarrassed me as she was two aisles away, causing other customers to stare. When I inquired about a possible missed sign regarding backpacks at the entrance, she rudely claimed it was not her responsibility to post such a notice. Her attitude quickly escalated into disrespect. When I asked for the general manager's name, she refused to provide it. As I continued shopping, myself and other customers overheard her loudly conversing with another employee, labeling people with backpacks as potential meth users and thieves, disrespecting me further to the other associate. I left the store. I avoided returning for several months, but I eventually did due to its proximity to my home. On my next visit, without my backpack, an older woman approached me and informed me that I was banned from the store without providing a reason. When I asked for the general manager's name and availability, she mentioned a Steve as the one who had issued the ban, even though I never visited during the day. This entire ordeal has been the most appalling experience I've ever faced in any store. As a 54-year-old grandmother with a background in customer service, I have never encountered such unprofessional, disrespectful, and rude individuals. The regional manager of this store should consider replacing the entire staff on both day and night shifts, including the general managers. The associates lack knowledge of the store's layout and respond rudely when asked for assistance. Regarding Misty's comment about the store closing early and the staff repeatedly announcing the closing time, this behavior is unacceptable. In conclusion, every employee at this store should be replaced with knowledgeable, pleasant individuals who can provide better service.

I often purchase lactose-free milk here, but it has not been available during my last three visits. Additionally, other dairy products have been low or out of stock. While the store offers good prices on most items, it's important to note that not everything is cheaper. The staff at this store has always been friendly and helpful whenever I've visited.

I'd like to rate this place a negative 10. The customer service here is the rudest I've ever encountered. I had an employee block the aisle and yell at me, claiming that aisles are never blocked while I was stuck between her and a cart filled with products.
