I switched to the Madison Reed location in Walnut Creek after bad experiences elsewhere. The staff is pleasant, knowledgeable, and customer-oriented. I love my hair color with Madison Reed, including balayage and highlights. The color is less toxic, making my hair healthier. Highly recommend the free color consultation for realistic expectations on dark hair.
I paid $150 for highlights, but got split ends instead. The color looks dull now, no visible highlights. The stylist didn't show me the results and rushed through the process without attention to detail. Waste of money.
If I could rate zero stars, I would. The worst experience ever! I wanted a touch-up on my highlights, but ended up with severely damaged hair. The stylist didn't check on my foils during processing and my hair turned out stringy and white at the ends, with orange roots. She didn't apologize, but kept adding toners and boosters aggressively. She gaslighted me, claiming it was natural and how it was supposed to turn out. Unprofessional and traumatizing experience.
