Absolutely atrocious cancellation policy. First and final time booking with Massage Envy. Recently relocated to Tuscaloosa and scheduled a massage to utilize a $100 Christmas gift card. Had to cancel last minute due to my child's illness and was still hit with a $65 charge for same-day cancellation, half the service cost, despite manager consultation. Well-versed in company policies, having drafted them myself, yet left with a useless $35 card and Massage Envy lost a potential repeat client. Curious if management will resort to the tired "company policy" excuse, when many businesses, even medical facilities, waive initial missed appointment fees.
Following multiple years at Massage Envy in Tuscaloosa, my opinion has shifted. Therapists excel, but overall service disappoints. Held a membership, yet thrice had to pay additional fees. Initially, booked a hot stone massage online, finding my account unlinked to membership and forced to pay over $100, later receiving a text showing 4 unused credits. Contacted for explanation, received no apology from the same staff member. Subsequently, unknowingly exceeded credits twice, leading to unexpected charges. Inconsistencies, lack of communication on therapist availability, and extra costs deterred me. Will not return.
Inconsistently closed during advertised hours. Presently 3:30 pm on a Saturday, yet doors remain locked with no response to phone calls, both now and previously attempted.
