I had a guest pass that the employee at the front desk told me was good for 24 hours. Since I joined around noon, he said it was good until noon the next day. He even went as far as to look up what classes were offered the next morning without me asking. Very nice of them. With this information, I left the gym for the day and instead rearranged my entire day's schedule to check out the rest of the facilities at high altitude the next morning. Upon arriving, I was not permitted to enter. I was informed by the front desk that the guest passes were only good for the day and they were "sorry" for the misinformation provided by their staff, but I could not enter. Where is your integrity to honor the word of your employee as a courtesy for the misinformation they provided?? Obviously, this was a training issue. How is this the customers fault? It's unfortunate that the opportunity to build relationships with future paying customers went out the window because you feel that it was a financial loss for you. As a United States native born and raised, this was very disappointing to experience. The mistraining of staff should never fall on the customer as a burden!
Good climbing routes and a high wall. Fitness equipment are new and good quality. Yoga class was good too.
HAF is a great facility that struggles under poor management. While the facility offers great climbing on the boulder and roped walls, a kilterboard, and 3 distinct workout areas, their pricing model and staffing needs improvement. They don't advertise it online but if you cancel a membership within 3 months you are charged a $100 fee. They have no single month or punchcard options, only a weekly pass that is only justified by an exorbitant daily pass fee. They also don't give you a key fob, so you cannot check in without a staff member or use the lockers.
