I visited this salon back in 2014 after reading positive reviews and seeing stunning before-and-after photos online. However, as a naturalista, my experience was far from pleasant. The staff appeared to be inconvenienced by having to handle my natural 4c hair. Despite the poor service, my hair looked absolutely stunning and felt incredibly soft after the silk press treatment.
I have to commend the stylist, who I believe is the owner, for her exceptional service! My hair was severely damaged from wearing weaves, but she took the time to explain that it wasn't ideal for me to get my hair styled immediately. Instead, she gave me a trim and treatments. I appreciate her honesty as most stylists would have jumped at the chance to make money. She also showed genuine concern for my eczema and directed me towards the right treatment before returning for a silk press. The young lady who washed my hair was very kind and did a fantastic job. I will definitely be returning for my silk press appointment.
Ora was incredibly disrespectful and showed bias during the appointment. I don't understand why my alma mater is relevant to getting my hair done, but she clearly has an issue with students from Morgan State University. I had to cancel the appointment due to her offensive remarks. If you attend Morgan State, avoid booking with Ora.
