I adore Alex's. My mom and I have been regulars here for a while now, and we are thoroughly content. Taylor is exceptional, but all the technicians are. No grievances from us. We'll keep coming back every fortnight to Alex's.
If you seek a salon with consistent pricing, please avoid this place. Last time I came for a fill-in with French tips, I only paid $55, and $45 for my toes. This time, I was informed it would be $70 for the fill-in and $60 for the toes (I just wanted them painted, not a pedicure). The nail technician did a commendable job overall. However, they should really maintain uniformity in their pricing...
I have been coming in and out since 2012. When Alex is in the shop, it's always a delightful experience, but it's a whole other story when they're not around. The staff seem displeased with your presence. I arrived at 6:13 for a pedicure, my technician Sam was impolite, she didn't bother to inquire about the type of pedicure I wanted but did mention it would cost $5 to remove my gel, even though I had a gel pedicure done there last time and was getting gel again, but oh well. When I questioned why she didn't ask about my preference, she claimed it was too late for her. I've never encountered such behavior. I expressed my dissatisfaction to her and Cindy. I'll return, but only when Alex is present. I don't spend where I'm not valued. Today at Alex's Nails, I didn't feel valued or even welcomed. The only positive was kind Pat who tried to enhance my experience.
