I will not return here nor suggest this spot, though it is close to my home. I visited on Thursday and scheduled an appointment for the following Sunday at 9 AM. I wrote my name in the appointment book, which was empty for that day. I was the first appointment... I arrived at the shop a few minutes before 9. I must mention that I am nine months pregnant, due any moment. I also have a toddler, so I had to arrange to get my hair done before going into labor. Getting my hair done within the chosen time slot was crucial. Upon arrival (EARLY), two people were working and two clients were already seated. I assumed the person doing my hair was in the back. After 10 minutes, I saw one of the ladies calling the owner to inform them that no one was there to do my hair! I HAD AN APPOINTMENT! I was the first in the appointment book! I should have been the priority over any walk-in or anyone who made an appointment after me. Otherwise, what is the point of an appointment? I spoke with the owner, who mentioned that the person supposed to do my hair had an emergency and did not notify them. I was told to return around 1:30 PM, and someone would be available to do my hair after they finished with walk-ins. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS... EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL... they said they would call me when done. I left the shop and ended up driving around until I found a place that could take me immediately. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL. UNPROFESSIONAL...
My braids turned out so lovely. My edges are NEVER too tight. The ladies work quite fast and excel at braiding. They maintain a good pace and ensure to moisturize your scalp during braiding and after. Augusta is consistently professional and patient, ensuring her stylists are as well. My preferred braiding salon! You will not be let down.
The service was quite expensive (A basic braid down with no hair extensions should not cost $30-$50). The shop was uncomfortably warm; it was very hot. Despite the young lady who braided my hair being very pleasant with a lovely personality, she did not braid my hair the way I requested. She had been eating some type of fried fish before braiding my hair, resulting in my hair now carrying a strong fried fish smell. Overall dissatisfied.
