Sarah was incredibly professional and welcoming when she first braided my hair. Unfortunately, the experience this time was quite different. We had agreed on a 7am appointment five days ago. However, the night before, she sent a text at 2am to reschedule (I was asleep). Upon waking, I tried to reach her for clarification but received no response to calls or texts. After driving 45 minutes and waiting in vain, I left. It's disappointing to say that Sarah African Hair Braiding has lost a client in me.
My first visit to her salon left me thoroughly dissatisfied. It felt like she imposed her preferred style rather than listening to what I wanted. She then shifted blame onto me for not providing enough detail, despite my efforts to explain my desired look. I do not recommend this establishment. My experience was unpleasant, especially when I requested a hair trim, which she refused. I was surprised, as customer satisfaction should be a priority. I showed her a style picture without realizing she used two hair lengths. Other salons I've been to simply trim excess hair to achieve the desired length. I also informed her that the hair she chose wouldn't suit my 4C hair, but she insisted it would. After 15 days, my natural hair suffered, leading me to remove the style. Following this ordeal, I won't be returning. I gave her a chance due to proximity, but I'll stick with my trusted braiders.
The crochet braids turned out fantastic! I appreciate the clean and serene atmosphere of the salon, along with the engaging conversations that helped me relax during the session. Despite my rescheduling, Sarah took great care of my hair, delivering the exact style I desired. I highly recommend giving her a call for your next appointment.
