I visited Wangui for about 3 years. They were the sole hairdresser during that time. Due to pandemic laziness, I wore protective styles for nearly 2 years and only got cuts from them. My hair was healthy. When I finally wore my hair out, I let them cut it again (on a dry, old twist out, unwashed, no blow drying first as usual.) I expected long hair with a cut that suited my face. Sadly, I ended up with short, uneven hair that looked terrible at the back. Another stylist called it a “gap” at the back. I cried for a month and never returned. It’s been over 6 months since that last cut and due to being perimenopausal, my hair growth has slowed and I haven’t regained much. I had previously mentioned to them that I was trying to retain my hair as this menopausal hair growth issue is common in my family. This has been my most upsetting hair experience. I still feel sad every day when I see my hair.

Today was my first time getting my hair cut and styled by Wangui. They are a master stylist. They asked about my goals, created a personalized cut for me, and taught me how to care for it. They also recommended the exact products for my specific hair type, head shape, etc. Highly recommend them!
