It's been over 3 months now, and my clients and I are thoroughly enjoying our new space here at Sola. The ambiance is fantastic; we appreciate the privacy within my suite during appointments, the well-maintained restrooms, and the hassle-free parking options in the garage and on the street. Tenants feel secure and at ease even late at night, thanks to each suite having its own lock and key, coded doors, nightly front locking, and fobs for external access. I hail from Connecticut and relocated here for university. I felt apprehensive about trying a new place for my lash lift as I had always gone to the same person back in my hometown. Taylor did an outstanding job on my lashes. The establishment was extremely clean and hygienic, and Taylor was very reassuring and professional. She did such an outstanding job that I would choose her over my usual technician back home! I visited Wangui for about 3 years. They were the sole hairdresser during that time. Due to pandemic laziness, I wore protective styles for nearly 2 years and only got cuts from them. My hair was healthy. When I finally wore my hair out, I let them cut it again (on a dry, old twist out, unwashed, no blow drying first as usual.) I expected long hair with a cut that suited my face. Sadly, I ended up with short, uneven hair that looked terrible at the back. Another stylist called it a “gap” at the back. I cried for a month and never returned. It’s been over 6 months since that last cut and due to being perimenopausal, my hair growth has slowed and I haven’t regained much. I had previously mentioned to them that I was trying to retain my hair as this menopausal hair growth issue is common in my family. This has been my most upsetting hair experience. I first visited Dire Salon at the recommendation of a woman I met there. Although she no longer works there, I continue to choose this salon for its cleanliness, peaceful atmosphere, and respectful staff. The environment is free of loud chatter and unprofessional language. At 65 years old, I am quite particular about where I get my hair done, and I have no desire to go elsewhere. Babi now takes care of my hair, and I always leave the salon feeling satisfied. The entire team at Dire Salon does an excellent job, and the prices are reasonable. Every hairstyle I've seen leaving the salon looks fantastic on everyone. I recently stumbled upon a Groupon for this salon and decided to purchase it based on other customers' feedback. The deal included a full color, haircut, and hair treatment. I encountered some difficulty scheduling an appointment due to the salon's limited hours, and upon arrival, I was informed that I wasn't in their system. Fortunately, the staff member provided me with a robe and was willing to honor my appointment time. However, when I requested to dye my hair red, I was told it was not covered by the Groupon and would cost an additional $145. The only colors included in the offer were brown and blonde, which was disappointing. I typically pay around $200 for a cut and color, so I was open to paying a bit more, but this extra charge seemed excessive. Groupon refunded my money as the offer did not specify color limitations. The staff here tend to shadow you as if you're about to steal, especially if you're a person of color. They lack knowledge about the products, rendering them unhelpful, and their demeanor is far from welcoming. Unlike neighboring stores, this location closes early at 7pm and reprimanded me for browsing an item at 7:02. She has a remarkably gentle touch for tattoos (I might have dozed off a few times) and had an amazing playlist going for a 3-hour session.
