Massage Envy

Received an 80-minute massage from Alex. They were pleasant, but the massage was underwhelming. Only 15 minutes were spent on my back, following a basic routine learned in massage training; repetitive strokes, thumb pressure, misplaced trigger points, etc. The last 30 minutes were the worst, with me lying face up while Alex scrolled through their phone and sporadically squeezed my shoulder. I was left speechless, simply counting down the minutes until I could leave. The massage felt mechanical, lacking a proper warm-up and at times not enough oil was used, causing skin pulling instead of smooth gliding. Alex talked more than desired despite me expressing a need for relaxation. In the end, I just wanted to escape. I still tipped 25% out of principle, but days later, I feel cheated, experiencing the same body pains as before and regretting not speaking up about the phone-scrolling incident. Alex didn't even acknowledge the lack of attention during those last 30 minutes. It was an uncomfortable and unprofessional experience, especially while in a vulnerable state. The front desk staff were friendly, but I won't be returning or recommending this spa to others.
