Today, I spent a whopping 50 minutes on hold only to have my call picked up at the eleventh hour. The individual on the line feigned a poor connection and abruptly informed me to call back the next day as they were closing. They then promptly disconnected the call. This was no leisurely pursuit; it concerned necessary medication. Goodness.
Let's commence with the negatives. The automated prescription refill service is sluggish, cumbersome, and at times, unmanageable. Now, onto the positives. The pharmacy representatives are outstanding. Unable to refill my prescription online (requiring a 'vacation extension'), I eventually phoned the pharmacy. The pharmacist was helpful, gracious, and efficient. Each time I visit to collect a prescription, I brace myself, anticipating the same grumpy, uncooperative service that led me to abandon one of CVS's competitors. However, this pharmacy, despite always bustling, boasts staff who are consistently helpful. The wait times are brief, and their representatives are unfailingly polite and professional.
The pharmacy technician displayed a lack of kindness. Without a greeting, they curtly demanded my last name and rudely cut me off as I spelled it out. The same treatment followed for my first name. When I sought to confirm the prescription I was collecting to avoid any mix-ups, they shirked their responsibility to assist me. I also wished to add a single store item to my purchase to save time, but they rushed through the interaction, failing to include the clearly visible item on the counter in my order. Upon requesting them to add it swiftly, they warned me not to cancel the transaction. When I asked them to ring up the additional item, they retorted that I could either go to the front or they could do it, then scolded me for asking as there was a "substantial line," which in reality consisted of just one person waiting. The undue delay was entirely their fault, not mine. Furthermore, they neglected to provide a bag for my order. I have observed this store much busier yet delivering far superior customer service, with interactions twice as fast. The CVS at the university inside Target is exceptionally courteous and double-checks prescriptions. I shall never retrieve my items from this location again.
