I hold a membership. Last year the service was satisfactory, but this year they've been frequently canceling my massage appointments on the same day. They apologize, but if you do the same, you're charged a cancellation fee.
I've had many massages. This was absolutely the worst experience I've had. My appointment was set for 10am, but my massage didn't start until 10:20. It concluded at 10:57. I paid for a 60-minute massage. Additionally, I didn't get the masseur I had booked with. I'm not sure if she was overbooked or what, but I spotted her there. The substitute masseur didn't pay attention to my requests. This was the most disappointing massage I've ever had. I cannot in good conscience recommend this salon.
Visiting a Massage Envy for the first time, my initial impression was positive... the facility was clean, and the staff were friendly. They didn't pressure me into membership, in fact, they only asked when I brought it up. When I showed interest, they informed me about the ongoing promotion. Moving on to the massage itself... they allow you ample time to dress and undress, more than 10 minutes. I indicated a preference for firm/very firm pressure on the questionnaire... but that's not what I received. It was a gentle Swedish massage with a lot of focus on the scalp, feet, and hands. I was surprised that they included the face... quite different from my past experiences. The amount of massage oil used was on the excessive side, I felt like I was slipping and sliding all day! Today, I signed up for the membership and scheduled another massage for next month. I'm curious about some of their other services like the Total Body Stretch and Kinesiology Tape Enhancement. I'll keep you all updated as I try out more services.
