I will begin by saying the massage experience was pleasant and the staff here excel at their craft. I would recommend a visit here, but be sure to reconfirm details consistently as that was the issue I encountered today.
I visited the Milagro Salon & Spa today inside The Atlantic Club in Red Bank and have just found out that the massage I received and confirmed not once, but twice, was altered.
I received a gift card from a family member that covered a balance of $125 to be loaded onto the card. $125 is the cost of the deep tissue massage, which I was meant to receive, and it was input into the spa's system as far as I am aware. Then, when my sibling and I arranged to get our massages today, my sibling verified that the massage I would receive is the deep tissue massage. We arrived, got our massages, and settled the bill with our gift cards. I was billed $117, less than the agreed $125 for a deep tissue massage, which did puzzle me at the time, but I assumed it was cheaper than I recalled (I should have verified what massage I received both before and after, so that lapse is on me.) My sibling did receive her correct massage, but I did not - I was billed for a classic/signature massage instead of a deep tissue. The classic/signature massage costs $110, and with tax, it would total around $117. Ordinarily, this wouldn't be a problem - I got a less expensive massage and didn't have to pay anything due to having a gift card, but the issue here is that I did not receive what was confirmed, not once, but twice with this establishment. I still value the experience and the fact that I got a massage regardless, but I am disheartened by how many times you have to verify if what you are paying for/expecting is accurate. I also observed another patron who requested a female masseuse, and they were assigned a male masseuse instead, so it appears there is a concern with confirmations here. If you intend to visit here, OVERLY CONFIRM EVERYTHING just in case. I hope this confirmation issue is addressed in the future.
