The teachers were very accommodating of the fact that English is not my first language and took the time to customize my education to suit my specific requirements. I felt supported at the school as a student and still do as I return for guidance on building my own business, a dream I've had since adolescence. The education here has benefitted me both personally and professionally. This is particularly significant for me due to my chronic health condition, allowing me to receive treatment promptly. Additionally, the massages I receive are skillful and thorough. Tina has consistently remembered my preferences from the beginning and customizes each session to focus on specific areas and duration as per my needs. The tension in my scalp, neck, and shoulders from migraines is effectively alleviated by Tina's expertise. Despite having experienced pricier massages with lesser benefits, the value of her work far exceeds the cost. The reasonable pricing enables me to visit more frequently than I would have otherwise. Furthermore, Tina's warm and inviting demeanor enhances the overall experience, creating a soothing and comfortable atmosphere. A steep price does not equate to superior quality here. This salon imposes excessively high rates for the services rendered, around $400 for a first-time client curly cut. The cut does encompass guidance on how to manage and style your hair, but that is rather standard for curly cuts from my experience. Nonetheless, I was prepared to pay a premium for what I anticipated would be top-notch service. Regrettably, I departed my appointment with Mallory disheartened and $400 lighter (plus gratuity), my curls limp and undefined. The cut itself was subpar. Furthermore, the haircut endured nearly 4 hours. I am baffled as to how they justify the price tag for this service. The caliber was lacking. Uncertain if my encounter was an anomaly, but I would recommend nearly any other salon in Portland that specializes in curly cuts, except NOT Gilded Fox. Oh my word, I can't believe I've been going to Lisa for over ten years and have never posted a review for her! She is one of the best hair stylists for natural or processed hair. My dad had been going to her for years, so it's basically a family tradition. She always takes care of me and I know she will do the best for you too! After a previous experience with thick nails, she took great care in shaping them to my liking, consistently checking in to ensure my satisfaction.
