This was hands down the worst manicure experience I've ever had. The receptionist was pleasant, but the older technician who worked on my nails was unfriendly, unprofessional, and rough with my nails. I had come in for an acrylic soak-off and a manicure, but right from the start, she cut my acrylics unevenly and used a metal tool aggressively on my nails. She then left abruptly without explanation, only to return minutes later with a nail cart. During the soak-off process, she even used the same cuticle clipper on herself and then on me, which I found unsanitary. She was rough while removing the acrylic, causing discomfort, and continued to be harsh throughout the process. Despite my complaints of pain, she never apologized and even cut my nails too deep at one point. The manicure was no better, with cold water and no soap provided, and my cuticles and nails were handled poorly. She cut my skin and applied the polish hastily. It was a rushed and unpleasant experience overall. Choose your nail technician wisely.
This was without a doubt the most disappointing visit I've had at a nail salon. Despite being a loyal customer at Modish for five years, today's experience was completely unacceptable. I called ahead to confirm they were still accepting walk-ins for the service I wanted, and upon arrival, everything seemed fine. However, once I was seated, things quickly took a turn for the worse. The technician who worked on my nails was in such a rush that she ended up drilling two of my fingers. I had requested the shade "Bubble Bath" by OPI, a pale pink color, but she used a brown acrylic powder instead. This should have been a warning sign. She also twisted my fingers in uncomfortable ways and repeatedly ran the nail drill over my cuticles, leaving them sore. At one point, she used a nipper aggressively on one of my nails, causing me intense pain. When it came time to apply the gel color, she rushed through it, resulting in a sloppy and uneven finish. To top it off, she left the salon while my nails were still curing under the light. I left feeling shocked and disappointed, not even wanting to address the issue at the time. Perhaps she was having a bad day, but the service I received was simply unacceptable.
I appreciated the warm welcome and customer service from a younger team member. However, the receptionist seemed disinterested and preoccupied with her phone.
