Generation One Tattoo, Plymouth

I received this tattoo in January, and I delayed posting this review to see if I would acclimate to the tattoo Erica provided me. Unfortunately, I haven't and my experience getting the tattoo wasn't great either. I had previously visited Erica for a small tattoo and she was extremely polite, personable, and did a fantastic job. The second (and final) time I visited, it began well, but didn't conclude on a positive note. I wanted a small floral design different from the one I received. Erica suggested I go larger so the lines don't merge and end up resembling circles (fine). During the tattoo session, everything was progressing well until the end when she remarked, “Don’t use green ink in your next tattoo.” When I inquired why, she responded, “Why?! Why do you think?! Your skin doesn’t like it.” I found her tone quite rude. (I'm not a tattoo artist so I have no clue what you're referring to). She also mentioned that my skin was very dry, which was why I had irritated skin after the tattoo. I feel like she became frustrated with the green ink situation and took out her frustration on me, which ultimately resulted in her delivering a subpar job. I believe the tattoo she gave me is below standard. It appears as if someone simply drew flowers on me with Crayola crayons. It lacks a natural look, the colors are overly bright, the lines in the flowers blend into each other, and the green ink for the stems turned out somewhat blotchy. I departed the studio that day feeling like a flawed canvas and not a real person with emotions. Additionally, I had sent her a picture of what I wanted months before the tattoo appointment. Couldn't she have informed me in the email that what I desired wasn't feasible? Did she have to wait until the day of the appointment? Seriously? She might excel with other tattoo styles, but if you seek a delicate floral piece, avoid going here.

Erica is a talented tattoo artist with a wonderful personality. She is accommodating and produces exceptional work. I would recommend her to anyone. She excels particularly in watercolor tattoos.

HOWEVER, Erica wants your tattoo to look impeccable forever, and takes the aftercare of your tattoo seriously, and does it correctly; her attention to detail is REMARKABLE! On the day of your tattoo appointment, you will discover her studio to be spotless and inviting. The ambiance is professional, calming, and enjoyable all at once; you will truly relish being there. If you visit any other place first, you'll regret it! Visit Erica and have your perfect tattoo done flawlessly the first time, she truly is an OUTSTANDING artist and individual!
