I usually don't write reviews, especially negative ones, but my recent experience was so disappointing. I went for a pedicure with my sibling who insisted on it for some bonding time. Since I recently had a child, I thought I deserved a treat. We requested gel pedicures upfront, and I wish they had informed us about the extra $15 for gel at the beginning, not midway through the session where it felt awkward to decline. When we were asked about the spa service we wanted with the pedicure, they handed us a menu. We opted for a basic service, but they pushed us towards the lavender treatment due to "calluses," which incurred additional charges. My sibling had calluses, but I did not, so why did they pressure me into it? The technician didn't even use the grater tool on me to remove dead skin and simply remarked that I had soft heels. Everyone has dead skin, so she should have used it. Essentially, I ended up paying extra just for the lavender scent. My sibling's technician started working on her about 8 minutes before mine began, even though we arrived at the same time. I noticed she was receiving excellent service, particularly with the massages. I was looking forward to mine, but my technician rushed through it hastily. I barely received a massage; she only gave me a few taps with the towel. She hurried significantly to catch up to my sibling's technician. The pedicure was also rushed. Despite starting later, they both finished at the same time. I can feel dead skin on my heels, and the pedicure was subpar. Strangely, my sibling's experience was even worse, despite her technician providing better massages. I will attach photos of her toes. The only reason I didn't voice my complaints on the spot is that I dislike making others feel uncomfortable, and more importantly, I was in a rush to drop off my family at the bus station and my spouse at work. My sibling was visiting. The entire ordeal cost us over $70 each for a rushed and unsatisfactory experience. It wasn't relaxing or worth the money. I wouldn't return here. I simply avoid confrontation or making others feel bad. Despite the experience, I still left a generous tip. Perhaps we are too kind, but that's why I felt compelled to share my experience here.
Update: This feedback is accurate; I did receive the pedicure at Avalon. If you verify the records, you will see that I visited twice in the same week, first for the pedicure (Mike knew I was dissatisfied and gave me a discount), and second for the manicure. I would never fabricate information to harm a business's reputation. This is genuine feedback.
