Brentwood Hand and Stone is absolutely fantastic. I've been treated by Alex and Taylor, and they are truly exceptional. Dealing with chronic back pain from past surgeries, I found their touch to be just right - firm yet gentle. I highly recommend Alex and Taylor to anyone seeking a top-notch massage experience at Hand and Stone. P.S. Despite a few scheduling hiccups, the management has always been prompt and accommodating.
I visited to redeem a birthday gift card from a friend in California. My appointment was at 3 PM. Filling out the questionnaire was standard procedure. I noticed similarities to Massage Envy where membership offers discounts but non-members pay more. While I have a go-to spot in San Francisco, I decided to utilize the gift. Upon completion of the paperwork, I was introduced to Sofia, my masseuse. She was pleasant and began at 3:06 PM, finishing by 3:55 PM - shorter than the expected hour. Opting for a mini hot stone massage cost extra. The constant application of a hot, damp towel on my back during the massage was discomforting as it quickly cooled. This practice was unexpected and hindered my relaxation. Comparing this experience to my regular spot revealed higher costs here with additional charges for deep tissue massage, unlike my usual place where it's included. Although I requested deep tissue, I was informed it would cost more, so I stuck with the Swedish massage chosen by my friend. Despite Sofia suggesting a return visit for a full hot stone massage, I declined. The cashier, while not pushy, inquired about scheduling another appointment, to which I politely declined. The facility was clean, and the staff were friendly, but the service did not meet my expectations, and I won't be revisiting.
I wanted to surprise my husband with a massage. While discussing with the front desk attendant, I was informed that the cost for a first-time massage or facial was $89. Opting for a gift card, I confirmed that it could be used for the promotional offer. After consulting with the manager, it was verified that the gift card would be valid. However, when my husband tried to book the massage, a different, impolite receptionist claimed the gift card couldn't be applied to the promotion. I mentioned my prior conversation with the manager, and she assured me the manager would follow up within 24 hours. It has now been two weeks, and each time I call, the manager is unavailable. Unfortunately, my husband has lost interest in the massage. I cannot recommend this establishment if you seek good customer service.
