My friend J. Simpsson had her hair styled here, and it did not meet expectations considering the amount they paid. The shop's excuse was that their hair was too short. As a braider myself (not residing in Michigan), I know that braiders have the right to refuse service if the customer's hair is too short. I can braid very short hair, and their hair was not that short at all. I am speaking up because the shop owner tries to make them look ignorant when, in reality, they seem to prioritize money over quality braiding. Using silky hair for kinky twists is a big no-no! The twists were coming undone, and my friend requested short twists but ended up with long ones. These braiders seem lazy and disrespectful to their community. I wouldn't even let them near my dog's head. Their responses to complaints come off as rude and dismissive. Is this the image they want to portray? The evidence is clear in the photos. Complaints are valid when the job is done poorly. By the way, others have mentioned that the shop is not clean. It seems like the shop is not being truthful. They respond to customers but fail to explain why they didn't turn them away if their hair was indeed too short. It seems like their work speaks for itself.
I have only been once, but I really loved how my hair turned out. It lasted for about 2 months. The young lady at the first booth did my hair, and I am excited to return for another session.
