My initial experience at Lena's new shop on 12710 W 9 Mile Rd, Oak Park MI 48237 was excellent, as expected. She continues to deliver top-notch services at her new location, conveniently situated in the same parking lot as Dollar General, at the corner of 9 Mile and Scotia.
She attended to my eyebrows and ended up removing more skin than necessary. I have included progress photos for reference. Upon leaving, I noticed a stinging sensation on my skin, which worsened over time. It was only then that I realized a portion of my skin was missing, as seen in the second photo. Upon returning to the establishment, I found that she had closed early, 45 minutes prior. The subsequent photos show the condition of my skin on the third and fourth day, with the final one taken on the fifth day. I have never had issues with skin sensitivity before, having regularly waxed or threaded my eyebrows. Lena had previously performed waxing without any problems. However, this time, she was overly forceful and rough in her approach. I am disappointed by the outcome and now bear a mark on my skin. When I addressed the issue with her, she simply stated, "I made a mistake, and mistakes happen." I had to insist on receiving a $10 refund, as she displayed no remorse or empathy for the situation.
During a spontaneous visit to the establishment, I intended solely to have an old dip removed from my nails, with no desire for a new application. Upon arrival, I found the place devoid of ambiance, with staff members asleep in their chairs. A non-English-speaking individual emerged from the back and began preparing me for a full nail service, despite my explicit request for removal only. After informing the owner of my intentions, she took charge of the service and coerced me into a new dip application. Initially satisfied with the results, my nails began chipping and cracking after three days, much to my frustration, as I had not initially wanted the service. The quality of the product used was subpar, leading to this unsatisfactory experience. In conclusion, I do not recommend this establishment.
