The salon is no longer the same as it once was. The prices have increased significantly, yet the quality of service has decreased. There is no longer a hand massage or scalp massage, and the quality of drinks has declined. In the past, one could trust any stylist they were assigned to. I took my daughter for a trim before her senior pictures and specifically requested that only a minimal amount be cut due to the upcoming photoshoot. However, the stylist ended up cutting off 5 inches, creating an uneven cut, and thinning her hair without consent. I am deeply disappointed and upset by this experience.
Regrettably, I encountered a dreadful experience at this salon. I suspect it may be a matter of training and equipment, so I will refrain from naming the stylist. Initially, I was warmly greeted and eager to have my hair done. However, upon completion, my scalp felt incessantly throbbing and incredibly tender to the touch. The pain was intense. Instead of using hair-appropriate gloves that minimize friction and hair pulling, the stylist used rubber gloves to wash my hair. During the 20-minute hair wash (which had to be repeated), it felt like my hair was being yanked out, and I noticed a significant amount of hair loss in the wash bowl. Furthermore, the stylist's nails were excessively long, causing discomfort and scratching my scalp so severely that it nearly brought me to tears. Each time she stepped away to attend to another client, it felt like a relief to have her away from my scalp. Therefore, individuals with sensitive scalps should avoid this salon.
My daughter arranged a pedicure for me as a gift. Upon arrival, I was informed that the booking was made for a manicure instead. Consequently, I had to settle for a quick express pedicure as I did not have the luxury of time before leaving town. This was meant to be a relaxing Mother's Day gift, but it fell short. I am certain that my daughter did not make an error in booking as she scheduled it after my appointment at another salon, where she helped me choose a nail design and provided the funds for the service. I will be returning to Jess at the other salon where I feel valued as a client and can receive a French tip manicure without being told there is insufficient time.
