I opted for the body scrub and 1-hour massage combo. My masseur, a skilled and charming American, provided a great service. However, the initial conversation with the receptionist was a bit awkward. There should be more effort put into communication, including explaining procedures, setting expectations, personal introductions, etc. It wasn't the most welcoming start, but I managed to navigate through it. The body scrub was fantastic, although the lighting was a bit too bright. The massage was equally enjoyable. While I don't recall the exact total cost, I do remember thinking that the overall price, including a generous tip, was justified.
My recent trip marked my 4th visit to this spa, and unfortunately, it will be my last. The massage was excellent, no complaints there! However, when it came time to pay, and I was asked about the tip, things took a turn. I opted to pay by credit card and mentioned a $13.00 tip for a $65.00 massage, which is a 20% tip. The receptionist seemed visibly upset and quietly angry. He insisted that the tip should be a minimum of $20.00. I was taken aback and reiterated that I had given 20%. He then questioned if I enjoyed the massage because of the small tip. Despite his escalating hostility and attempts to pressure me into increasing the tip, I stayed composed. He became sarcastic and patronizing, claiming to educate me on tipping etiquette. Finally, he demanded $15.00, to which I initially refused but eventually relented and left a $15.00 tip. This behavior is extremely unprofessional, and while not entirely surprising given his attitude, I will not be returning to this spa. I plan to share my experience through blogging, vlogging, and word of mouth to caution others about tip intimidation. This establishment has lost a customer and potential future clients. I give it a zero rating.
Just had a manicure and pedicure today, and unfortunately, it did not meet my expectations. The nails were cut too short aggressively, and the cuticles were barely touched. I had doubts during the treatment about the effectiveness of the gentle cuticle nipping, and it turns out, it did not do much. Additionally, they neglected to file or buff off any skin traces on my nails. My fingernails still look untidy despite the amount I paid...
