A decent massage, but I left feeling deceived as they demand a 20% tip and don't return change if you pay in cash. She actually took a $15 tip on a $60 service, which, if you do the math, is 25%. A tip should be a gesture of appreciation, not something taken from you as if it's owed. I'll search for a place that leaves me feeling better upon leaving because isn't that the point of a massage?
Lilly (I think she said that) was incredibly talented. With 15 years of experience, I told her I usually don't tip because I go to private individuals. She was good, the place was super clean and warm inside. I upgraded to the 75-minute special from the original 20 minutes. When she asked how much tip, I said to put $10. Overall, I sensed she expected more, but I don't engage in those games. Her hands were strong and her techniques were amazing. While they do a great job, be prepared for the expectation of a significant tip. Despite that, she was truly skilled. Often we seek good deals at these places, only to be pressured into larger tips as if we came solely for the discount. This is why I don't frequent Asian massage parlors; they tend to be pushy. I'm glad she didn't persist and just gave me a sad look. A great massage experience. I would definitely return and request her next time I'm in from Philly.
It's an exceptional massage parlor that provides professional care and respect. Taiji is one of the best places for a high-quality and valuable professional massage in Manhattan. There's truly nothing comparable to this establishment in the area. Lisa is outstanding, and Sofia is the most welcoming individual who can assure you of the top-notch service you seek.
