I purchased a voucher for $38 for a 60-minute deep tissue massage with hot stones. The regular price for the massage on the website is $48. Upon arrival, they insisted on a $5 tax payment. Nowhere on the voucher does it mention this. They claim it's in the fine print??? When using a voucher, I have already paid for the service I am purchasing. I have used vouchers in the past for massages and have never been asked for a “tax”. This establishment seems to be trying to extract more money from clients. Furthermore, the therapist attempted to pressure me into leaving a tip before the treatment. When have you ever left a tip before receiving a service, especially a massage?! In the massage room, the table was very rigid, and the only covering available was a towel with stains. Lastly, the therapist never inquired about which areas I wanted to focus on. I ended up lying on my back for the entire 60 minutes. The massage itself was decent, but the customer service was lacking. I frequently stroll past this establishment and decided to visit for the first time tonight to have my gel x removed. I neglected to peruse the feedback, and now I regret it. Initially, (like others) they attempted to lift the gel x ends with a transit pass and then resorted to using a drill, excessively shaving them down to the point of discomfort. I couldn't retrieve my credit card from my wallet without causing pain to myself and ended up in tears on my way home. Her skills her knowledge experience is unmatched. I felt like I was being treated like a movie star. This was my first time doing Japanese hair, straightening known as thermal reconditioning. It was fantastic. She spoke to me, broke everything down as how everything was going to go down. The process was simple and we spoke the entire time. My fiancée was present with me, and she can agree. She had a great time at the salon. She said she felt like she was in a spa. I still make it a priority to visit her in NY 1-2 times annually because no one else comes close. The experience of getting my hair styled by Terue is more rejuvenating than therapy, as I feel and look significantly better afterward. She is a genuine artist, meticulously precise in her hair cutting technique.
