Bowery location: Alex has been fantastic - I usually have a clear idea of what I want when visiting the hair salon, but today I felt like trying something different, so I asked Alex for her opinion on what to do with my hair. Her suggestion was spot on, a much-needed change. The color and haircut turned out beautifully, and I'm really happy with them. I feel great about myself! Additionally, she was very kind and accommodating towards me and my daughter who was with me during the appointment - she understood when I needed to attend to her, and even with these unexpected moments, she finished right on time at 2 pm! I've already booked my next appointment with her in June. It is disappointing that I have to leave this negative review. I arrived with high hopes and excitement, only to be completely let down by Tammy's service. During my full-body massage (which was not cheap), she informed me that she didn't have enough time to massage my legs - she bluntly stated "no way." She rushed through my head and shoulders with the remaining time. I was truly shocked. I have had massages at numerous places in various cities around the world, and I have never encountered a therapist who couldn't manage their 60 minutes. When I visited Envy, I expected a professional service from skilled individuals. Unfortunately, this therapist did not meet those expectations. It was my first time there, and I was contemplating getting a membership due to the convenient location. However, this experience has made me reconsider. Fortunately, the receptionist was very apologetic when I shared my experience and offered to pair me with a "much better" therapist next time. This was my premiere visit to this spot and I’m let down. I spied reviews online and opted to reserve a silk press for an upcoming birthday. I reached my appointment punctually and my stylist was on hand and got right to work. She offered me some counsel on flat ironing my hair at home and some product recommendations. She was kind and easy to collaborate with. Why 2 stars? I reserved a silk press with cut/trim and I did not receive a silk press. My hair looks more like a blow out that I did myself and this is only HOURS after I departed the shop. While my hair feels soft, it is also a tad dry. The trim I got was decent, but I think more should’ve been taken off. My hair I observed also had a slight burnt scent as I walked home. Following a few deep pore detox facials (which were already fantastic for my skin) with Anya, she recommended that I try microneedling due to my severe acne scarring and hyperpigmentation. Anya addressed all my inquiries and ensured I felt at ease before proceeding with the treatment. I commenced regular microneedling sessions around May, and my skin has never appeared better just a few months later (after merely three sessions) -- it's truly like magic. My skin appears more luminous and evenly textured, my pores seem significantly smaller, and I rarely experience breakouts anymore. Additionally, I've noticed a remarkable change in my makeup application now that I have a smoother skin canvas, preventing my makeup from appearing flaky or uneven. I don't even need as much makeup now because my skin looks stunning and radiant on its own!
