Providing an update to a review I penned a few years back. I have been a loyal client of Terue since 2003, even after relocating from New York in 2006. I still make it a priority to visit her in NY 1-2 times annually because no one else comes close. The experience of getting my hair styled by Terue is more rejuvenating than therapy, as I feel and look significantly better afterward. She is a genuine artist, meticulously precise in her hair cutting technique. Seems like a bit of a rip-off! $41 for eyebrow threading feels excessive. The procedure took less than 10 minutes, and then they expected me to shell out $41. The technician claimed my brows were uneven and promised a fix, but honestly, I didn't notice any difference. It would have been nice if they had warned me about the steep price beforehand, especially since I was a new customer. This was my premiere visit to this spot and I’m let down. I spied reviews online and opted to reserve a silk press for an upcoming birthday. I reached my appointment punctually and my stylist was on hand and got right to work. She offered me some counsel on flat ironing my hair at home and some product recommendations. She was kind and easy to collaborate with. Why 2 stars? I reserved a silk press with cut/trim and I did not receive a silk press. My hair looks more like a blow out that I did myself and this is only HOURS after I departed the shop. While my hair feels soft, it is also a tad dry. The trim I got was decent, but I think more should’ve been taken off. My hair I observed also had a slight burnt scent as I walked home.
