After waiting at a bagel spot across the street, I returned and requested a 60-minute massage. It commenced with an extra 20-minute wait before they began. The therapist was just okay, not exceptional like other places I've visited in the area. My main concern was that they attempted to cut my session short. At the 45-minute mark, the timer beeped, signaling the end, but after some discussion, I managed to get the remaining 15 minutes of my below-average massage. I purchased a voucher for $38 for a 60-minute deep tissue massage with hot stones. The regular price for the massage on the website is $48. Upon arrival, they insisted on a $5 tax payment. Nowhere on the voucher does it mention this. They claim it's in the fine print??? When using a voucher, I have already paid for the service I am purchasing. I have used vouchers in the past for massages and have never been asked for a “tax”. This establishment seems to be trying to extract more money from clients. Furthermore, the therapist attempted to pressure me into leaving a tip before the treatment. When have you ever left a tip before receiving a service, especially a massage?! In the massage room, the table was very rigid, and the only covering available was a towel with stains. Lastly, the therapist never inquired about which areas I wanted to focus on. I ended up lying on my back for the entire 60 minutes. The massage itself was decent, but the customer service was lacking.
