I had a wonderful first experience at Arrojo Studio. I got my hair colored by Casey, who was extremely knowledgeable, and they worked absolute magic. I went in for a single process to rejuvenate my faded red hair. They made me feel super comfortable and welcomed and their color match was perfect. Could not recommend Casey and this salon more!
First I wanna mention I paid $260 plus tip so over $300 this. I was super excited to be able to get an appt with THE NICK ARROJO themself. I grew up watching What Not to Wear. I trusted they would do a great job. The pictures speak for themselves. I asked for a simple butterfly style with light layers. Told them I don’t like styling much and that I needed something I could wear wavy. ASKED for it to be low maintenance and fit my face and be right for my texture. Showed them photos of what I liked and what I DIDNT like. I ended up with an extra choppy weird haircut that looks like a mushroom. They barely seemed to be looking at my head while they cut it. They were more interested in talking to their young assistant. But I figured ya know, they’re a pro, it’s gonna be great. When finished they had their assistant meticulously style it. It looked okay styled. I thought “I’ll re style it when I get home.” Once I washed it and blew it out I saw how CHOPPY and uneven it was. Makes sense…as they barely looked at my head. I am only writing this because I have asked kindly several times for a refund and was made to feel like there’s nothing wrong with this cut. They were really rude and (buzz word but it is accurate) they completely gaslit me about the experience. I really don’t like doing this but they butchered it and acted like I was the problem. I’ve had several stylist friends tell me it was a botch job. And they’re not trying to sell me for a cut so you know it’s true. So just a warning…don’t meet your heroes and certainly don’t let them cut your hair.
I LOVE Arrojo. Every person I’ve worked with is very talented. Dakota is my fave, it’s so amazing to find a hair stylist I trust. They have incredible ideas, are very time efficient and very kind.
