If I could rate a ZERO, I would. The worst stylist, terrible job, awful attitude, and possibly the worst customer service from a manager. I was referred to Alex by my stylist from another Supercuts because she was leaving. I told Alex I wanted natural highlights starting halfway down and grown out. I showed them a picture and explained how I wanted it. They acknowledged by saying, “you want a grown-out, natural look that frames the face,” to which I confirmed. I reiterated several times that I did not want chunky highlights, anything near the scalp, frosted or very blonde stripes, or drastic contrasts. They acknowledged and said there would be no problem.
As for the cut, I showed them two pictures and requested a textured look. They asked if I wanted a shaggy look, to which I replied that I did not want too many layers that would flip and look like a Christmas tree, and I preferred a heavier bottom with fewer layers.
So, I trusted them based on the referral and my detailed instructions, thinking I would be satisfied. While I was occupied with my phone during the blow-dry, I looked up to see the opposite of what I asked for and explicitly stated NOT to do! When I questioned why my hair was so light with many layers (they even mentioned they wouldn’t add many layers around my neck), they responded with a shrug, hand on hip, and a half-rolled eye, saying with an attitude, “well, you didn’t want me to blend it, so I didn’t.” In a rush, I paid $245 and left.
The next day, I contacted the manager, who said they couldn't assist me and advised me to return to my previous stylist to fix it. However, my stylist had no availability. When I informed the manager of this, she callously replied, “oh well, there's nothing I can do about that.” Frustrated, I had to visit the Ramsey location to have all the white frosted highlights removed and get a new haircut by Miriam, who saved the day. I was so embarrassed by my hair that I had to pay to undo what Alex did to me. The white/silver frosted highlights were terribly uneven, and the haircut was a complete disaster, contrary to all my instructions. I wish I could contact the owner to express how awful Alex is and how disgraceful the customer service from their manager was. The actual outcome was far worse than what I showed and what Alex confirmed they could do with their 13 years of experience. The color was even worse in person, and the haircut made me resemble a squid and a Christmas tree. I have attached pictures of what I wanted versus what I received - a complete disaster.
I had my initial experience with Marisol. She understood precisely what I desired. I required additional highlights to be retouched, added to my existing ones. Initially, I was only getting a blowout, but I opted to have my layers trimmed as well.
I was extremely satisfied with my first encounter with Marisol. While I have had other stylists at Supercuts who also did an exceptional job, Marisol today was a 10+ on a scale of one to ten, and I eagerly anticipate using her services again in the future.
I don't know the name of the hairdresser who cut my hair today at Supercuts in Nanuet, but she was undoubtedly fantastic. She gave me a great haircut, was very professional, and I hope she continues at that salon. I will definitely return!
