Madelyn was absolutely AMAZING! Having recently relocated to Chicago from Miami, FL - I sadly had to bid farewell to my trusted stylist/colorist of many years. I was anxious about finding a new one, but my Chicagoan friends and family recommended I give Philip Pelusi a try as they are reputed for being one of the top salons in the city. I was a bit hesitant when they assigned me to their (admittedly) younger stylist Madelyn, but she proved to be incredibly skilled with a keen understanding of hair color and highlights. She is also delightfully easygoing and amiable, providing attentive service throughout my salon visit. Although I didn't catch the name of the senior stylist or manager who assisted her, they were equally impressive. Initially, I thought we could achieve the blonde highlighted look I desired with their "Accent Lights" (just 12 foils), but we ended up using over 30 foils to achieve the multidimensional blonding effect I was after. I am grateful to have found someone I can rely on for my hair needs and a go-to salon with a professional yet relaxed atmosphere. Thank you, ladies!
I had Nikki and requested her to trim ONLY the damaged sections of my hair while keeping it long. I informed her that my hair is naturally wavy and, as a hairstylist, she should be aware that it appears shorter when dry. I emphasized the need for length due to my involvement in a sport that requires my hair to be tied up. I suggested longer layers to promote a healthy appearance. She removed the damaged parts as requested and inquired if I was satisfied with the length; I confirmed. However, after washing my hair, she continued cutting, resulting in my hair barely reaching my shoulders. When I entered, it was at the middle of my back. I would not recommend this establishment, and if you do visit, I would suggest requesting a stylist you have worked with before since it appears that some of their stylists struggle to follow simple instructions.
