My usual hair salon has really gone downhill in quality lately and I've been on the lookout for a new spot.
My first visit I had Alex, they were fantastic! Checked in with me every step of the way to ensure I got what I wanted and was pleased throughout the process. They introduced themselves and we conversed, treating me like an individual not just a customer to rush through.
I returned for a fresh cut when it was time, I intended to book an appointment but forgot. Jordan was available and styled my hair this time and I absolutely LOVED them and the work they did. They took their time and engaged in conversation with me. Cracked a few jokes, they were very outgoing and I savored the entire visit. I asked for a simple trim and they did an amazing job! Constantly checking in to ensure I was satisfied with the process. I've only had it for a day and have received so many compliments. My initial visit to Alternative left me feeling disappointed with my hair outcome. Despite the stylist being amiable, the stark line between my roots and blonde highlights was not what I had envisioned. The suggestion of booking another appointment for additional coverage did not sit well with me, especially after spending nearly $400. The service felt rushed, and the quality of work on my toes was subpar. I believe that payment should correspond to the level of service provided, and rushing through the process doesn't yield accurate results. My toes were not cleaned properly, and I still had cracked heels on the bottom of my feet. Additionally, my nails were not filed correctly, halting the process. If I could rate 0 stars for my experience today, I definitely would. I've visited this place a few times when I couldn't go to my regular salon, and usually, they do an okay job. However, today was a different story. I asked for a dip fill, but after the lady had already filed down my nails, she suddenly said she couldn't do the fill and insisted I needed a whole new set. I had just gotten a new set three weeks ago, and there was no need for another one. If she had been upfront about it from the start, I wouldn't have proceeded. After waiting for a long time to get the new set done, the result was absolutely terrible. I'll be seeking elsewhere to have this disastrous set removed.
