Everything was going well until the supposed manager, who, mind you, is very condescending and sarcastic, follows me to the machine I'm using after I scanned my access tag. He loudly states, "I can't allow you to work out because you have an overdue payment." I've been a member for over a year, never missed a payment, and never had any issues with my direct deposit. He then asks me, "Can you pay that?" with a snarky attitude. I reply, "Yes, I don't know what's wrong or what's happening; I've never had a problem." He persists, "So, can you pay that?" I already said yes, so I find it ridiculous that he had to approach me at my machine, pointing his finger at me as if I'm his child, to bring me over and charge me. Not to mention, he doesn't treat Caucasian individuals the same way. I've seen him be less polite with Hispanic members. This encounter was incredibly unpleasant and unkind. Needless to say, I will be canceling my membership.
My sibling's been hitting the gym for nearly two years now. Every time he comes home, he's all smiles talking about the great manager and the friendly folks there. But one day, while he was lifting heavy weights, a certain individual had an issue with the noise he was making. It's disheartening to see people not understanding the gym culture. It's sad to see him leave a place he considered family.
Can't believe there are still racist individuals in this day and age. I can't believe he said, "You people always make loud noises at the gym." What does that even mean? I can't believe a place I considered home didn't stand up for me. Thanks, Planet Fitness...
