I initially visited for the Swedish and armpit sugaring service but then it was recommended that I try the kelp wax because it’s less painful and just as effective as sugaring. BEST DECISION EVER! Riley waxed me down and she worked so quickly and surprisingly the complete leg service without the kelp wax was the most painful but still bearable! I came for the complete leg service with regular honey wax and was finished in under an hour with all 3 services completed. I must mention, they do utilize the roll-on wax as their standard so if cleanliness is a concern for you, definitely choose something else. Both the receptionist and Riley were extremely kind, reassuring, and helpful. I was eagerly looking forward to experiencing this nail salon, but my excitement quickly turned to disappointment. Opting for a chrome gel manicure, I noticed the application was sloppy from the start. The technician assured me it would improve after washing my hands. However, even days later, the cuticles appeared messy (1st image). The polish began chipping almost immediately, with significant wear visible in under a week. By day 11, nearly all my nails were chipping (last image). Extremely dissatisfied with the service here. The haircut was passable, but after washing it myself, I noticed it was uneven. I had to visit another salon to fix the highlights. The front part of my hair was notably darker, especially on one side, as if some areas were completely missed. When I brought this up to the stylist, she insisted that's how highlights are supposed to look and disagreed with me. I have been going to David for 7 years now and have always left completely satisfied, unlike when I have to get a haircut when I am out of town. For NYC, her prices are very reasonable. She also is highly skilled with both clippers and scissors which isn't always the case when you are looking to get a fade and keep it long up top.
