Alright!!! I don't usually leave feedback. I had my first American blowout here on Sunday. It's spotless and well-lit. While waiting for my slot, many individuals were getting their hair done and they looked fantastic. When it was my turn for the American blowout, Rakan worked on my hair. He shampooed me, blow-dried, applied the AB, blow-dried then flat ironed me in very small sections about 18 times. This gives a sleeker appearance, but I was told it’s customizable based on how many sections they do. My hair was PIN STRAIGHT and incredibly soft. I had never experienced that before, so I was thrilled. He advised me to wash it when I got home, and honestly, I was anxious because my hair is frizzy, wavy, tangled, and unmanageable. I use heat tools every day which was causing damage. After my first wash, I was so nervous to see if it worked. I quickly blow-dried it and was amazed, it was smooth, frizz-free, and almost completely pin straight. It took about three minutes from start to finish to style my hair. I couldn’t stop touching it and I’m so happy I could cry while writing this review. I feel so beautiful because my hair is finally manageable and feels amazing. Rakan was absolutely fantastic. He guided me through every step and was efficient. The whole process took about an hour. I can't wait to return for my next one! I came here hoping for a higher class and quality nail salon but I was mistaken. I asked for the chrome gel manicure, I was told upfront it was $80. It’s a steep price tag (a nail salon downtown charges $50 for the same service) but I was happy to pay the price but with the expectation the service would be equivalent to the price. After patiently waiting 10 mins for the technician, she started with me all frazzled and rushing. No one should use an e-file if they do not receive the proper training on how to use them. I have one at home that I use for my own cuticles and never damage my nails in the process. She started filing down my nails at the nail bed instead of the cuticle which was hurting me. She told me I needed to relax and I asked her to please only lift and file the cuticle, NOT my nail.
She continued to proceed so I asked her to use cuticle oil and cuticle cutters and that I was switching to a regular manicure. She proceeded to comment on “how bad” my cuticles were. I took a photo one week later with the damage to my nail.
To make it more annoying, when another technician asked her why the manicure was switched she said “she changed her mind and doesn’t want to pay for the gel.” I didn’t change my mind because of the price, I changed my mind because I didn’t feel it was right for me to pay $80 for someone to ruin my nails. She also did a poor job painting the nails.
Only giving 1 star because I paid for a 10 minute massage and the gentleman who was the masseuse was exceptional.
