I came here hoping for a higher class and quality nail salon but I was mistaken. I asked for the chrome gel manicure, I was told upfront it was $80. It’s a steep price tag (a nail salon downtown charges $50 for the same service) but I was happy to pay the price but with the expectation the service would be equivalent to the price. After patiently waiting 10 mins for the technician, she started with me all frazzled and rushing. No one should use an e-file if they do not receive the proper training on how to use them. I have one at home that I use for my own cuticles and never damage my nails in the process. She started filing down my nails at the nail bed instead of the cuticle which was hurting me. She told me I needed to relax and I asked her to please only lift and file the cuticle, NOT my nail. She continued to proceed so I asked her to use cuticle oil and cuticle cutters and that I was switching to a regular manicure. She proceeded to comment on “how bad” my cuticles were. I took a photo one week later with the damage to my nail. To make it more annoying, when another technician asked her why the manicure was switched she said “she changed her mind and doesn’t want to pay for the gel.” I didn’t change my mind because of the price, I changed my mind because I didn’t feel it was right for me to pay $80 for someone to ruin my nails. She also did a poor job painting the nails. Only giving 1 star because I paid for a 10 minute massage and the gentleman who was the masseuse was exceptional. He should start his own business, I would see him on a regular basis.
Went today as a walk in with no appointment. Was immediately seated. They helped me pick the perfect colors for a “fun french” for an upcoming wedding. My technician was wonderful and a perfectionist. I have been searching for a go to nail salon in UWS and I think I’ve finally found my place! Place seemed popular too
A big bunch of us when here and all had a great experience. They did a great job with my damaged nails too. Definitely recommend.
