I opted for a Brazilian wax with Jayden, and let me tell you, A+++++ SHE WAS AMAZING. She's a new addition to the team, and I was a practice model for her, but I wholeheartedly suggest requesting her at Velvet! It was my first time getting waxed, but she made me feel incredibly at ease — no awkward moments, despite being quite exposed. Jayden was very attentive to my needs; for instance, I'm a bit of a wimp and may have let out a few yelps, but she handled it with such kindness, allowing me breaks when necessary. She even adjusted her technique, alternating sides with each strip because it felt better for me, rather than completing one side entirely before moving on. She was so relaxed, and since I'd never experienced this before, I was nervous about the intimacy, but she handled it with utmost professionalism. Holding a conversation with her was effortless, which is a significant reason why I recommend her! Jayden's easy-going nature was the key factor in my positive experience. I was in and out in less than 45 minutes :)
I’ve spent two decades in Detroit and tried various waxing salons around town. This was probably my third visit here, and I had a fantastic session with Jayden. It took me 20 years to finally have a waxing professional who resembled me. I truly enjoyed our conversations about our families and shared backgrounds. Not surprisingly, one of the most comfortable waxing sessions I've ever had, even though Jayden might be relatively new to Velvet. Thank you, Velvet, for the great experience.
One of my buddies frequents this place, and I decided to join her. The cleanliness and comfort here are top-notch! The staff was exceptionally kind and professional. Plus, my friend always praises Riley! I highly recommend this spot. And rumor has it, Riley is exceptional!
