Arriving at BE with knee discomfort and IT band issues just 3 weeks before my marathon, the team swiftly sprang into action to set me on the path to recovery. Laura diligently worked on refining my running technique, while Anya introduced targeted hip-strengthening exercises. Anya and I also explored dry needling for my IT band, and her gentle approach made what could have been an uncomfortable procedure surprisingly comfortable. Adhering strictly to Anya's hip exercise regimen and receiving a sports massage from Ean a few days before my race (I highly recommend Ean's massage - he alleviated tension near my hips, eradicating the knee pain I had been experiencing). In just a few weeks, I noticed significant improvement, and the race that I had anticipated to be painful and arduous turned out to be far more successful than I could have imagined, given the state of my knees just weeks prior.
