Upon my initial visits to Centers for Pain Control in 2017, I had an incredibly negative encounter with the Physician I was consulting. My concerns were not being adequately acknowledged, and long story short, I was essentially made to feel as though my pain was purely psychological. I acknowledge that I am young (currently 33 years old but was 26-27 at the time), however, that does not mean my issues are fabricated. I refrained from seeking treatment for six years and vowed never to return. I resumed my visits this past September because I simply cannot endure it any longer. Dr. Taylor was very direct and proactive during the initial consultation, initiating the process of ordering imaging, physical therapy, and addressing the issues with my leg veins. I just had a follow-up appointment today with Dr. Porter after further imaging, and I am relieved to hear that my concerns are not unfounded. There is indeed an underlying issue. I hope to continue being taken seriously and to effectively manage my pain.
