I spontaneously booked a nail appointment at Marble City Salon last week while I was downtown for a gig and it turned out to be the best impulsive decision ever! Cynthia does exquisite work and is delightful to converse with. She managed to squeeze me into her schedule even though I called on the same day (though next time I'll plan ahead as I know she's usually quite busy!). I'm currently working on tiling my shower and my dipped nails have withstood mortar, liquid nail, and all sorts of chaos! And, they still look flawless! I cannot express enough positive things about my visit to the Aveda Institute on Gay Street. Having resided in Knoxville for 4 years, it's surprising that I only just stumbled upon this gem! Despite giving them only a day's notice, they managed to accommodate my group. We were anticipating a relaxing spa day, and we all departed with smiles on our faces. I opted for the "stress relieving treatment" performed by Alaina. She executed the service flawlessly from beginning to end. It's truly unbelievable that I received a foot soak, massage, and facial at such an affordable rate. The hair I received was not what I had ordered initially. I had to have three appointments within two months, costing me $375 each time, with no satisfaction. My hair kept falling out, and the staff kept making excuses about the beads or how I brushed my hair. It became tedious. Beware of this place as you will be overcharged and end up feeling like a complete mess with hair falling out everywhere. I was quite anxious going in, as it was my first time getting a Brazilian wax. Aisha made the experience very comfortable and created a relaxing atmosphere. As a curvier individual, I did not feel judged being there. I will definitely return.
