LAURA IS AMAZING! She really listens and does a fantastic job with my son's hair. The blend is seamless and there are no choppy sections. I previously went to someone else and felt the cut was rushed and uneven. Now that my son is a bit older, I am giving it another try with high hopes for a better experience.
I want to mention that I had informed them while booking that my son is autistic, and I had also mentioned it in the booking description. When we arrived, my son started crying when he was seated in the chair, which is typical. However, during the haircut, he was screaming, as most children would. My son is autistic, as previously mentioned, and the stylist, while nice, seemed to be in a hurry, cutting his hair rapidly without pauses. Eventually, she accidentally cut my son's finger severely, causing it to bleed profusely. When I asked for a first aid kit, they didn't have one, which is a major concern in any business. It's crucial to always have a first aid kit available for emergencies. I had to manage the bleeding with paper towels in the bathroom, which quickly soaked through. They suggested taking him to a nearby medical facility, but I insisted they call EMS since they lacked proper supplies. The situation was distressing as my son, with sensory issues due to autism, was in pain and trying to touch his injured finger. We waited for EMS to arrive and assist us. The key takeaway here is the importance of patience, especially when dealing with individuals on the autism spectrum. With more understanding and care, this unfortunate incident could have been prevented. I drove back home for an hour and a half, covered in my son's blood, while he was also covered in his own blood. Although the stylist, Emilee, was apologetic, greater patience could have averted this situation. I hope they learn from this experience by acquiring a first aid kit and implementing incident reporting procedures. Allison, who was present, only briefly intervened, suggesting medical assistance without addressing the lack of first aid resources.
We had an amazing time here. The stylist we had was incredibly calm and patient with my daughter during her first haircut. She even gave me a lock of her hair and added some glitter, which my daughter absolutely loved. We will definitely be returning when we are back in this area.
