River is an outstanding stylist. I want to emphasize that. However, today on 6-25, I did NOT see River. My hair was already short and now it's so badly cut that I will have to wait weeks for it to grow out enough to be fixed. I'm not exaggerating. The lady who cut my hair was so engrossed in her Facebook page about a family gathering and who she would invite that she never inquired about my preferences. She spoke about it for at least a minute before I finally asked her if she was addressing me or on the phone. She wasn't. I wanted the curls off the back of my neck and away from my ears. Maintain the length on top. I had to interrupt her to convey this because she still didn't ask. She chatted the whole time about this gathering and removed the cape. I wear glasses, so I couldn't see what she had done. I had the curl over my ears and NOTHING else. I was frustrated and I informed her that she made a mistake and perhaps should focus more on her work than on someone's relation to her deceased grandfather. She did apologize, but the damage was done. A supervisor (didn't catch her name) offered to trim the curls over my ears. She did her best, I suppose, but there wasn't much she could do for the rest because it was so short. I didn't realize how bad it was until I got home and saw the back of it with two mirrors. They didn't offer to show me for obvious reasons. As terrible as this experience was, I'll hope that the woman's gathering goes better than my haircut. 😕
I took my daughter here and they did an amazing job. Everyone was very friendly as well. I returned to get mine styled. I requested it to be trimmed just below my shoulders. (I've long hair) I didn't get that. I basically got a trim. That's not my main concern. My main concern is I was charged the full price for a haircut. It was barely noticeable that anything was done. I feel that for a trim, $40 was too much. I also left a tip, so it ended up being $50. That's my only issue. None of my acquaintances or relatives even noticed I had it trimmed even after informing them. It was way too expensive for just a trim. I must mention I didn't have the same stylist as my daughter did.
