I apologize for the lengthy review... I'm giving it two stars because even though it's my go-to place to book with DK, Lee, or Li, I ended up in tears. I've been trying to grow my nails back healthy and long after experiencing a lot of damage from dips. I usually don't speak up, but today was supposed to be a relaxing post-work experience for me, and now my nails are a mess. The technician, Anna, asked if I wanted my real nails cut short or shaped, to which I declined as I wanted to maintain their roundness and grow them longer. However, she proceeded to file down my left nails flat and uneven. When I reminded her that I wanted them round, she filed them poorly, as evident by my thumbs. They feel rough and ridged, with sharp edges around my nails, and a piece was even hanging underneath one nail. The peeling is unappealing for my anniversary... After applying the top coat, she muttered something, gathered her things, and left without informing me that my nails needed to air dry or that I could use a lamp to speed up the process. I ended up fanning my hands and blowing on them myself. Both of my thumbs were messed up and had to be redone, but she didn't reapply the base coat, so I hope my nails won't be stained. Despite my efforts to be careful, my nail polish lifted on my thumb after 30 minutes. I've learned my lesson about doing walk-ins and will remember that for next time.
I'm working nearby this week and decided to go during lunchtime. I checked the prices online and opted for the acrylic set, which is what I usually get back home, listed at $45, a very reasonable price. However, upon arrival, they informed me it would cost $55. Fine. Throughout my visit, I felt very thirsty but was not offered a drink, and I noticed no one else had drinks either. Perhaps they don't provide complimentary beverages. When I checked out, they charged me an extra $5 for gel service, making the total $60, more than the $45 I usually pay, which includes the shellac coating they always apply on top. Additionally, I was left with excess acrylic on my nails. I requested its removal, but handpicking it off was time-consuming, and I had to rush back to a meeting. Overall, I don't believe I should have paid $60 plus a tip 🙃.
I feel like I overpaid for this service. I opted for the hurricane pedicure, paid $94, including a $10 tip. I left the tip out of kindness, but it was a hesitant decision. Initially, I received poor service, and the individual performing the pedicure accidentally cut me with a nail file on my toe, then proceeded to spray alcohol, causing a burning sensation on the wound. The acrylic on both big toes is noticeably bumpy, and there are rough patches on the bottom of my feet as not all the dead skin was properly removed. The technician then attempted to massage pressure points using a wooden instrument, which was extremely painful and discomforting, leading me to pull my feet away multiple times. His frustrated expression made me feel like he was intentionally causing me pain. While I'm not one to leave reviews, I hope this helps others seeking services to avoid this establishment. I did not expect such a disappointing experience in this high-end area of Las Colinas. The final part of the service involved him roughly massaging my legs, causing me to pull away multiple times due to the discomfort. To conclude the service, he placed what should have been warm towels, but they were scalding hot, nearly bringing me to tears. I didn't say anything as I just wanted to leave. I'm truly disappointed with this service. Look elsewhere.
