I purchased a set of Andis hair clippers from this store. They were quite pricey ($80), but that wasn't a concern for me. However, upon opening the box at home, I discovered that the clippers were covered in hair. I was shocked, especially considering the ongoing Covid-19 situation. I had to clean and disinfect them myself before using them to cut my hair. Apart from that, they worked fine. It was just surprising that the store didn't clean them after they were returned. Quite frankly, it was rather unpleasant.
Every time I visit this place, the staff are consistently friendly and helpful towards me. I've been to some Sarah's where that hasn't always been the case, so I truly appreciate the current staff they seem to have brought in over the last few months or so. Being new to the area, I'm unsure how long the current staff has been there, but overall, I always have a positive experience whenever I visit.
I visited Sarah's yesterday to pick up a few items, and the individual working there asked me how she could assist me. I politely declined, indicating that I knew where I was going. However, she then seemed reluctant to let me pass down the aisle. I had to excuse myself as I walked past her, and when I glanced back, she was observing me. As I continued to my destination, I approached her with a question, only to realize she had followed me to the next aisle, watching my every move. I inquired about what I needed, but she was unable to help. Frustrated, I retrieved my items, and as I went to grab something else, she was once again shadowing me. I have faced a lot of discrimination in Butler, PA, but this experience was truly unsettling. I had visited Sarah's years ago when a woman named Sarah managed the store. Once she left, the quality of black hair care products drastically declined, and what little they had left was exorbitantly priced. Walmart now offers a much better selection, and I will be purchasing my wax beads and other products elsewhere. No individual, regardless of their ethnicity, should be treated as a thief simply for entering a store. I spent nearly $90 there, and if I didn't urgently need the items, I would have taken my business elsewhere.
