My first visit to this salon was for my daughter's appointment. When we arrived on time, Monique seemed unsure if we had a booking. After some back and forth, she mentioned a price discrepancy and charged us more than advertised. While washing my daughter's hair, another customer arrived, leading to distractions and delays. The conversation about travel between Monique and the other customer went on for far too long, leaving my daughter waiting with wet hair. On another occasion, I arrived for my own appointment at 9 am to find the salon closed. After contacting Monique, she informed me she was en route to LA and had someone else to do my hair, who was running late. Despite my willingness to wait, the lack of professionalism and organization was evident. When she suggested a male stylist would take over, I felt uncomfortable and voiced my concerns. Monique's response was dismissive and rude, making assumptions about my preferences without knowing my background. While her work is commendable, her unprofessionalism and insensitivity make it difficult to recommend this salon to others.
The salon owner is fantastic. I've had a couple of unfortunate experiences with different stylists there, but the owner has always been clear and professional. The other stylists are generally friendly as well.
I have been searching for a skilled hair stylist for a while now, trying out different places but never quite getting the look I wanted. It's not cheap to get your hair done, so when I stumbled upon Style's By Monique, I was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with all the stylists greeting me with a smile. Monique, in particular, stood out to me. She listened to what I wanted, examined my hair and scalp thoroughly, and made suggestions that showed her expertise. I've been a regular at her salon since then, and every time I leave with a hairstyle that exceeds my expectations. I'm grateful for her talent and kindness.
