I have attended for 6 years weekly. My mind is at peace now. It used to feel like a hive of buzzing bees. Once, a dark cloud loomed over me. I am eager to collaborate with those who grasp the impact of trauma. Persistence and consistency require courage. The payoff is a serene life emerging gradually through their guidance.
I extend my gratitude to Blackburn for the invaluable assistance provided. I am truly thankful for the support and motivation. I misjudged the shelter initially, and without the help of these individuals, I shudder to think where I would be. I wholeheartedly recommend Blackburn to anyone in need of aid with domestic abuse issues. They offer a lifeline to those who have lost hope, demonstrating care and compassion. I am appreciative of your unwavering support and understanding.
In the past, I left a 1-star review following a distressing encounter with a female counselor during phone counseling for trauma from sexual assault. Although I no longer seek counseling here and am now receiving assistance elsewhere, I felt compelled to provide feedback in the hopes of prompting improvements at this facility. I rated it 3 stars (though I contemplated 2.5 stars) as I did have a positive experience at the shelter as a child. Through divine intervention, I realized it was unfair and dishonest to assign just 1 star, neglecting to mention the positive childhood experience and focusing solely on the negative adult encounter. Guided by God's teachings of honesty, impartiality, and forgiveness, I acknowledge my oversight. Just as Jesus forgave me for my transgressions, I extend forgiveness to the female counselor for her unkindness during our previous phone session. I wish her well. Following the Lord's example, I am called to love those who have caused me pain, embodying the adage "Love the sinner, hate the sin." Thank you, Jesus, for your divine love and truth.
