Woodhouse Spa - Golden

This charming spa housed within a historic home is a true gem. I have frequented this establishment numerous times over the past two years, and they have consistently been punctual! The pedicures are indulgent (although I do need to remind them about my specific toe-cutting preferences, being an avid runner). The couples massage takes place in a serene room and is incredibly soothing. Pro tip: Arrive at least 20 minutes early to unwind in the lovely room with a complimentary glass of sparkling wine!

My initial visit to the spa left me feeling uncertain about the value for the cost. The spa's operating hours are listed as starting at 10 am, which is when my appointment was scheduled. Since I didn't arrive early, I wasn't offered a robe or time in the quiet room. I was under the impression that you shouldn't arrive early if the establishment isn't officially open yet. The facial I received was fantastic, and the provider did an excellent job explaining each step. It was quite relaxing. My appointment included a facial and a sand treatment. After the facial, I was instructed to check back in at the front desk and then waited for the next treatment. I wasn't given a tour of the facilities or offered any amenities, while others around me appeared to be comfortably lounging in robes with beverages. Subsequently, I was led to the treatment room for the sand treatment and was informed that rinsing off was not part of the service but recommended. This was a new experience for me, and as it was a gift, I opted for the listed treatment. Unfortunately, the experience was not relaxing at all. It felt rushed and uncomfortable. The sand was roughly wiped off with a towel. I was provided with a small towel with holes for coverage and had to awkwardly sit up for a portion of the treatment. I didn't notice any discernible benefits afterward, and it would have been preferable to have a robe to wear post-treatment instead of my clothes, although this option was not presented. Additionally, there was limited space to store personal items and clothing, with only one small hook available. I wasn't given clear instructions on where to place my belongings or provided with a proper orientation for my first visit. I am unsure if the sand treatment was typical as I have no point of comparison, but I would not recommend it. While I see potential and would consider returning for a facial, I am hesitant about trying any other services.

I am absolutely enamored with this place! The entire experience, from the moment I walked in to the moment I left, was exceptional. The reception staff were incredibly kind and well-informed. They took the time to discuss various appointment options with me over the phone until we found the perfect day and time. The establishment itself is a stunning historic residence brimming with charm. Impeccably clean, cozy, and boasting an incredible ambiance. My Esthetician was truly remarkable and provided a wonderfully relaxing facial! While I typically visit the spa for massages, I decided to try a facial this time and I must say, I am now a convert. Facials are almost more soothing than massages! I had questions about skincare products and she patiently explained them to me during the facial while using them. She even displayed the products for me to peruse and purchase if desired. Overall, a flawless 10/10 experience. The serene quiet room is delightful, the staff is incredibly warm and welcoming, and the services are truly top-notch!
